Rowing ACT is the peak rowing body for the Australian Capital Territory and South East New South Wales, and rowers are a common sight on the lake. For non-competitors, rowing is a tremendous spectator sport and the events on the lake provide any photographer with plenty of opportunities for great shots. Lake Burley Griffin is at its photogenic best when dotted with yachts and other sailing craft. The Canberra Yacht Club was founded in 1959 as a focus for people from the ACT and surrounding regions who enjoy sailing. Dragon boating is an exciting and colourful sport with an enthusiastic following. Dragon Boat ACT is the governing body for the sport in the Australian Capital Territory. Introduced in 1990, its grown to over 600 members across seven sports teams and three school teams. Click the button or link for a list of coming events on their home page.
