The National Capital Authority (NCA) has a program in place to monitor Lake Burley Griffin including such things as water quality, lake levels, events or safety issues among others. These notices (including the most recent water quality analysis results) are reproduced below as received:

NCA Update 9 November 2023
PLEASE NOTE: The 2023-24 Lake Burley Griffin Recreational Season is underway. Water quality sampling and analysis is conducted weekly during the season.
In the event of any water quality alerts, under the ACT Guidelines for Recreational Water Quality, two consecutive clear results must be received before lowering or removing such alerts. Find up to date water quality information at www.theswimguide.org or on the Swim Guide App.
This Lake Burley Griffin water quality sampling was undertaken on Monday 6 November 2023. Results were assessed in accordance with the ACT Guidelines for Recreational Water Quality (2014).
Please note: The recreation season has concluded. Testing will continue at sites with restrictions or closures until they can be opened with no restriction. Water quality results will be posted to the Swim Guide.
